Today however, it’s become a reading requirement in American high school curricula, and also has several adaptations in film and theatre. In its first year, it sold no more than 20,000 copies. Scott Fitzgerald and published in 1925, The Great Gatsby wasn’t always the literary classic that it is known for today.
